In the case a user makes a special enrollment period change in addition to the above, documents/images containing PII may be required as proof of your circumstance and attached to your application/enrollment.
3. Use of PII
Benefitalign is committed to the privacy of the information collected by the Website and will only transfer PII to contracted outside parties such as broker, health insurers and employers on a need to know basis. Any requested information is required for the expressed Benefitalign use in the application/enrollment/renewal of your coverages or services.
We do not share information about individual users or the organizations they represent for marketing purposes with any third party. Benefitalign opposes the emailing of any junk mail, and does not sell PII to email lists, marketers or telemarketers. If you receive junk email that mentions the Website services, please email us at info@benefitalign.com and we will promptly investigate the matter.
4. Use of cookies
Benefitalign only uses a temporary session encrypted cookie to conduct functions. This session cookie type provides the most secure way to improve the websites ease of use while protecting information. The temporary encrypted cookie is no longer present in memory when you close your browser window/session.
Cookies are NOT viruses. They are not able to copy themselves or spread to other networks, execute and replicate there. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers downloaded on to your computer when you access certain features of the website.

5. How We Protect Your PII
Benefitalign runs on a secure cloud infrastructure. Our data centers and servers are built to make your data safe and accessible. We monitor and defend your information from intrusion and attack on a 24/7 basis. Our data center has on premise security such as physical access recognition, intrusion alarms and 24/7 security personnel, to prevent unauthorized access.
At Benefitalign we use encryption under the HTTPS protocol protect your information while it travels between you and our servers. In addition certain sensitive PII is also encrypted at the database level and only visible when a business transaction requires visibility.
You do not have to give us PII to visit Benefitalign. However, if you choose to register or conduct business transactions, we collect your email address to complete the process or provide delivery of quotes, applications or enrolment documents as needed. We will safeguard the information you provide in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended (5 U.S.C. Section 552a).

If you submit a request for quote, apply for coverage or enroll for an insurance/service product, then we will disclose your personal information to your chosen insurance/service companies, chosen agent, agency or business partner to process your quote, application or enrollment. If you complete an application with us that is processed through a government-run exchange or other government-run entity, we will disclose your personal information to that government-run exchange or entity. Please be assured that these chosen insurance/service companies, chosen agent, agency or business partners are only allowed to use your personal information to process your requested quote, application or enrollment form and are legally obligated to maintain strict confidentiality.
Employers, Associations, and Benefits Administrators or Consultants
If you use our website because of an association with a current or former employer, professional association, benefits administrator or consultant associated with such employer, association or organization, we may disclose your personal information to such employer, association, organization, administrator and/or consultant.
